The number of treatments recommended will depend on your individual skin concerns, treatment goals and the condition of your skin.

At NR Aesthetics & Skin, we offer SkinPen® Precision Elite as a one-off treatment or as a course of 3 or 6 treatments for patients requiring a more structured skin rejuvenation programme.

Your skin will be carefully assessed during your consultation, and a personalised treatment plan will be created specifically for you. Factors such as acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, pigmentation concerns, stretch marks and surgical scarring may influence the number of treatments recommended.

For some patients, a single treatment may be appropriate for general skin maintenance or rejuvenation, while more established concerns may benefit from a course of treatments to achieve progressive improvement.

Your treatment programme will always be tailored to your skin — there is no one-size-fits-all approach at NR Aesthetics & Skin.

At NR Aesthetics & Skin, we allow approximately 45 minutes for your SkinPen® Precision Elite appointment. This includes time for topical numbing and the microneedling treatment itself.

Appointment times may be extended if you choose to include additional treatments  as part of your personalised skin programme, such as additional areas , professional mask or LED light therapy.

Your exact treatment time will be discussed during your consultation and tailored to the areas being treated and any additional therapies included in your appointment.

SkinPen® Precision Elite is generally very well tolerated.

At NR Aesthetics & Skin, we aim to make your treatment as comfortable as possible by applying a topical numbing cream before the procedure.

You may still feel some mild pressure, vibration or a light scratching sensation during treatment, but most patients find the procedure comfortable and manageable.

Your comfort will be monitored throughout, and the treatment can be adjusted where appropriate to suit your individual tolerance.

Downtime following SkinPen® Precision Elite is usually relatively minimal, although this will vary depending on your skin, the treatment area and the intensity of your procedure.

Immediately after treatment, the skin is likely to appear red, warm and slightly flushed, similar to mild sunburn. Some patients may also experience a little tightness, sensitivity, dryness or mild swelling.

These effects are usually most noticeable during the first 24–48 hours and then gradually settle. Mild dryness or light flaking can occasionally continue for a few days as the skin recovers.

At NR Aesthetics & Skin, you will be provided with personalised aftercare advice following your treatment to help support your skin during the healing process.

We recommend allowing some flexibility around important social events, particularly if this is your first SkinPen treatment, as individual recovery times can vary.

Following your SkinPen® Precision Elite treatment, it is important to care for your skin carefully while it begins the healing and regeneration process.

To reduce the risk of irritation, inflammation or infection, we recommend that you:

• Avoid touching the treated skin unnecessarily, particularly during the first 24 hours.
• Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours following treatment.
• Avoid harsh or active skincare products for 24–48 hours, including perfumed products, alcohol-based products, astringents, AHAs, BHAs, retinoids and exfoliating products.
• Avoid swimming, hot tubs and chlorinated water for approximately 4–5 days after treatment.
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, as excessive heat and sweating may irritate the treated skin.
• Avoid other clinical or aesthetic treatments for approximately 1–4 weeks, depending on the procedure. Your practitioner will advise you on the safest timing if you are combining SkinPen with other treatments.
• Avoid shaving the treated area for approximately 12–48 hours, or until any sensitivity has settled. Avoid applying aftershave or fragranced products to the area during this time.
• Do not allow pets to lick or come into direct contact with the treated area, as this may increase the risk of infection.
• Follow the skincare and aftercare recommendations provided by your practitioner, as these will be tailored to your individual skin and treatment.

Some redness, warmth, tightness, mild swelling or dryness can be expected following treatment and will usually settle gradually over the following days.
