OBAGI Blue Peel Radiance

Obagi® Blue Peel Radiance is a superficial chemical peel designed to improve skin tone, texture, clarity and radiance with minimal downtime.

Your treatment plan will always be personalised following a full skin assessment.

For optimal results, a course of approximately 3–6 Obagi® Blue Peel Radiance treatments is often recommended.

However, the number of treatments required will vary depending on your:

• skin type
• skin condition
• level of photodamage or pigmentation
• congestion or blemish activity
• treatment goals
• response to previous peels

Before starting treatment, Nicky will complete a detailed skin assessment and recommend a personalised treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Some patients may achieve their desired result with a shorter course, while others may benefit from a longer programme or from combining Blue Peel Radiance with other treatments as part of the NR Blue Fusion™ packages.

Your treatment plan will always be tailored to your skin rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

For approximately 5–7 days before your scheduled peel, we recommend avoiding anything that may increase skin sensitivity or irritation in the treatment area.

Please avoid:

• laser hair removal
• waxing
• depilatory creams
• electrolysis
• topical retinoids or retinol
• AHAs, BHAs and other exfoliating acids
• physical exfoliants or facial scrubs
• other potentially irritating or resurfacing skincare products

Please also let us know if your skin becomes sunburnt, inflamed, irritated or develops an active breakout, cold sore or infection before your appointment, as treatment may need to be postponed.

Continue to use a broad-spectrum SPF daily in the lead-up to your peel and avoid excessive sun exposure.

Following your peel, your skin may feel slightly warm, tight, dry or sensitive, and some patients experience mild redness or light peeling over the following few days.

To protect the skin and support recovery, we recommend that you:

• use a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 every day for at least one week, and ideally as part of your ongoing daily skincare routine
• avoid direct or excessive sun exposure while the skin is recovering
• treat the skin gently and avoid rubbing, picking or peeling any flaking skin
• avoid exfoliating products, scrubs, retinoids, retinol, AHAs, BHAs and other active skincare until the skin has fully settled and any redness or peeling has resolved
• avoid heavily fragranced, astringent or potentially irritating products on the treated area
• use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser to keep the skin comfortable and hydrated
• avoid excessive heat, including saunas, steam rooms and very hot showers, for approximately 24–48 hours
• avoid strenuous exercise for around 24 hours if the skin feels hot or irritated
• avoid other facial treatments or resurfacing procedures until the skin has fully recovered

Do not pick or peel any shedding skin, as this can increase the risk of irritation, pigmentation changes or delayed healing.

You will be given personalised aftercare advice following your treatment based on your skin and the strength of peel performed.

Choosing a course provides a saving compared with booking individual treatments and is often recommended where we are targeting concerns such as uneven skin tone, texture, congestion or photodamage.

Obagi® Blue Peel Radiance is a quick in-clinic treatment, usually taking around 30 minutes.

The peel itself is applied for only a short period of time, but your appointment also allows time for skin preparation, application, monitoring and appropriate post-treatment care & products. 

Because treatment is relatively quick and downtime is usually minimal, it is often suitable for patients looking for an effective skin treatment that can fit easily into a busy schedule.
