Named after Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, this treatment specifically targets the neck and jawline area using Botox® for a rejuvenating and uplifting effect. The neck and jawline are often neglected in favour of facial work. The neck area can be particularly tricky to treat effectively as the skin is quite delicate and thin. However, The Nefertiti Lift is a procedure which redefines the elegant lines of the jaw and neck for a youthful, tighter, more contoured appearance without surgery

Perspiration (sweating) is a healthy, normal function of our bodies. But some people suffer from excessive sweating known as Hyperhidrosis. Many over the counter treatments fail to treat and often the condition is undiagnosed and treated. It can result in occupational, emotional, psychological, social and physical impairment. Botox® is injected into several areas of the skin and this instantly prevents the sweat glands from producing sweat. Botox® not only has a paralyzing effect on muscles, but also on the glands and can therefore significantly reduce the body’s perspiration by blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate them. This procedure is extremely well tolerated and is often described as uncomfortable but not painful. It involves a simple assessment of the sweat glands to identify the most appropriate sites to treat. A series of small injections are administered decreasing the problem by up to 95% within just one week. The treatment is non-permanent, but can last up to nine months

*Alternatively, if they are present at rest it is often preferable to use a dermal filler you will be advised at your consultation.

As we age the mouth can take on a downturned appearance. This causes a very negative and sour /sad appearance to the face.  Some patients subconciously regularly overuse the DAO muscle to pull down the mouth corners.

A downturned mouth can be treated with muscle relaxing injections. The injections stop the DAO (depressor anguli oris)  muscle pulling down the corners of the mouth. Treatment will cause the corners of the mouth to be slightly lifted, giving the mouth a more relaxed, happy, youthful and pleasing appearance.

BOTOX typically starts to work within 3 – 10 days, with full results at 14 – 21 days.

The answer to this is very individual and depends on the patient’s metabolism, the dose, the placement etc.

Typically this is what happens:
At 2-3 weeks, there is a maximal effect
at 8 weeks, movement starts to return
at 12 weeks, 50% of movement should be back
at 16 weeks 80% of movement should be back.
With an adequate dose, for most patients, this is very close to what occurs.

The smoothing effects of anti-wrinkle injections typically last between 3-4 months. However, staying on top of your BOTOX injections helps to improve the skin and muscle tone, so over time many people find that they can go longer between treatments.

Around 30 minutes.

Not at all.

No. Anti-wrinkle injections start to work within 3-10, with full effects seen at 14 – 21 days.

Anti-wrinkle injections are typically used to treat ‘areas’: these are the frown lines (11’s), expression lines (forehead), and crows feet (eye wrinkles). Each of these are ‘one’ area’, and the most common amongst our clients are these typical three areas at once. However, which areas you have treated are completely up to you. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat ‘orange-peel’ chin, ‘bunny lines’, and provide an eyebrow lift – amongst others.

We advise you not to drink alcohol or take Ibuprofen within the preceding  24 hours of your appointment, as this can increase the risk of bruising. Try not to come to clinic dehydrated or immediately after exercise. Avoid smoking

Immediately following injection, the treated areas may be slightly pink and / or ‘bumpy’ for 5 – 10 minutes.

Do not touch the injected areas following your treatment. Do not massage the treated areas. Do not bend excessively for 4 hours after treatment. Do not wear make-up for approx. 12 hours following treatment and avoid alcohol. No travelling in an aeroplane, saunas, or steam rooms for 2 weeks after. No facial for 2 weeks either whilst its working.

Anti-wrinkle injections are very safe when injected by experienced medical professionals who have undertaken a full assessment of your medical history alongside a full facial assessment. Knowledge of the areas to be injected is essential, and Nicky is experienced in this. The main risks associated with botox injection is some redness & bleeding (both of which resolve during the treatment).

Occasionally you may experience small bumps immediately afterwards and usually resolve before you leave the clinic. There is also a small risk of pinprick bruising.
Further risks of dropping the eyebrow, raising the eyebrow, or dropping the eyelid – however, these are rare when you are treated by a SKILLED MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, but are also correctable.

You cannot have anti-wrinkle injections if:
• You are pregnant
• You are breastfeeding
• You are taking certain antibiotics
• You have any chronic muscle or nerve conditions, such as Eaton Lambert syndrome or myasthenia gravis.
• You have any sensitivity to any of the product excipients – human albumin or lactose monohydrate

Anti-wrinkle injections are prescription only, which means everyone MUST have a face to face medical consultation with Nicky to assess suitability , at this time the risks and the benefits of the proposed treatment. You will be given and an opportunity  to ask any questions you may have at this time as this should not be a decision to be taken lightly. If deemed suitable then an appointment will be made for your return to treat, this will no sooner than 48 hours following consultation, this is a requirement for everyone.
